School Improvement

Tailored Programmes of Support

I work with schools and Local Authorities to plan training and support to closely meet their identified needs. This can range from a twilight or an INSET day to a series of supporting days across the year. Here are 2 examples:

Case Study: Moving Higher Achievers Forward, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire (2014-15) supporting a group of selected schools for Lincolnshire LA+ T.T. Education

The Reason for Support

The main aim is to increase the confidence and effectiveness of teachers and develop their understanding of how the more able can be challenged.

How I helped

A series of CPD sessions for a group of schools on how to challenge the more able learners including outstanding planning and teaching for non-fiction, narrative and poetry writing, writing across the curriculum, spelling, punctuation and grammar, self- assessment, developing independence and quality guided sessions.

Case Study 2: Challenge At Every Level 2014-15 Tailored programme to support a group of selected schools, for Lincolnshire LA+ T.T. Education

The Reason for Support

The main aim is to increase the confidence and effectiveness of teachers and develop their understanding of what constitutes outstanding practice.

This programme was designed for schools where Quality First Teaching is consistent, and will move teaching from good to great, while developing teacher creativity so as to stimulate engaging and purposeful lessons, especially for the high achievers.

How I Helped

The key messages were collaboration, challenge and problem solving through talk, throughout the curriculum.

I led a series of CPD sessions for a group of schools on outstanding teaching, challenge across the primary curriculum, development of quality planning, assessment and questioning.
